Welcome to Osiris

One of my entries for Beyond Human.

The Osiris are the new aristocracy. Think global economic supremacy. They're the kingpins of the corrupt corporations that wrangled control from the governments. To them, money and power are synonymous.

The idea here is that through sharing processing capabilities with machines/computers, they can increase their own cognitive abilities. The Osiris have become rather sickly due to their unnatural addiction of linking with machines, paired with their fastidious body-shaming, many of them are emaciated.

The Chair is the head of Osiris, he shares cognitive power with a gravity defying super computer. He is connected to all members of Osiris. He doesn't like to be in the public eye, though his subordinates do take fashion cues from him; hence the ominous helmet hair that seems to have become a trend among the elite of Osiris.
